Fur evokes mixed reactions in modern society, mainly because of industrial fur farming. Yet it is unbeatable in  extreme cold and at the end of its long working life it returns to the earth- unlike synthetic equivalents.

Every year in the UK tens of thousands of Foxes, rabbits, roe deer and grey squirrels are culled to protect habitats and crops. A vast majority of those foxes and squirrels are left to rot, and the skins of the deer and rabbits are sent to landfill. I have always thought that is a terrible waste!

Over two days we will turn pelts from humanely culled UK foxes into beautiful soft furs. The method we use is be applicable to other small and medium animals, so not only will you have a gorgeous fox fur, you have the knowledge of how to turn any other furs that may come your way into beautiful material for clothing and crafts.

Two days 9-4 ; Lunch of soup and bread provided, tea and coffee available all day. Please let me know any dietary requirements beforehand. Bring a mug ( ideally something with a lid)  The session will be run from the cozy surroundings of my heated workshop Near Stowmarket, Suffolk. All materials and tools included.  Nearest train station is Stowmarket, a 20min walk away.
